Dave Mohr, MBA
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Dave Mohr is a higher education operations and financial executive with expertise in leading and growing colleges and universities. Mr. Mohr is the CEO of Salud Education, which was founded in 2018 to develop new medical schools and health science programs in underserved markets in the U.S. and internationally.
Prior experience with medical and healthcare education includes the startup of St. Luke School of Medicine in Mexico City in 2015 and continuing involvement as an accreditation team leader, financial expert and degree specialist for the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). He is an authority on accreditation, operations and building institutions with strong student outcomes. Mr. Mohr also served as the founding CFO for Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine (Candidate Status, seeking accreditation). Currently, he is the CFO for the proposed Maryland College of Osteopathic Medicine (Applicant Status, seeking accreditation).
Mr. Mohr has been president of three national and programmatically accredited private colleges in Pennsylvania, Illinois and California, CEO of a private equity-backed multi-site education holding company, CFO of a WASC-accredited international university with operations in the U.S., Mexico, Japan and China and its holding company, and regularly consults with private equity investors and accredited colleges and universities.
He has significant transaction experience having worked on 100+ acquisitions and led multiple rounds of equity, senior and mezzanine debt financing. His operational experience includes growth and turnaround management, complex regulatory oversight, process improvement, labor negotiations, program effectiveness and student outcome improvement.
Mr. Mohr started his career in commercial banking with ABN AMRO/LaSalle Bank where he was a founding member of its Higher Education Specialty Lending Group. He holds a MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BBA in Finance from the University of Iowa where he was also a NCAA, Division I student-athlete and 3-year varsity letterman (Track & Field). Mr. Mohr is an Eagle Scout and active volunteer on the local, national, and international level with the Boy Scouts of America.
